Presently the largest cow and bull slaughterer in Canada, LEVINOFF MEAT PRODUCTS LTD. produces sub-primal cuts to customer specifications and is also a major producer of boneless beef.  Comprehensive HACCP programs are an integral part of operations at both facilities (located in St. Cyrille and Montreal).

A family owned business that was founded in 1947 by Mr. Goodman "Goodie" Tasman that has grown to become the largest independent 
cattle hide processor in the world. Our primary function has been preserving, processing, grading and selling hides to tanneries around
the world. Our focus has been to find the best quality raw hides and begin pursuing the further processing to leather and eventually to high
end finished leather products.
 
In his 1996 E & Y Entrepreneur of year narrative, company president Norman Tasman pointed to three key objectives to position us for
continued growth and success: (1) Developing relationships with leather brokers/agents to gain access to customers and knowledge of leather
demand, (2) Having a tannery, and (3) Acquiring competition to avoid price wars over raw materials. Each of these goals was met, and the
knowledge gained through meeting these goals will aid us in moving into high end finished leather products. This is now our main focus as
we have secured what we believe to be premium hides from Canada.
 
It is a process that will take a substantial amount of product development and marketing but we are confident that a Canadian Branded product is
imminent over the next couple of years. We are excited about the potential with this project.
